Winter Park Tops Timber Creek 14-10

The Winter Park Wildcats faced off against Timber Creek on Thursday night.  It looked promised to be an exciting game as both teams traded goals in the first quarter.  Timber Creek took a 3-2 lead into the second. Thatcher Clark scored two goals and an assist in the second to help power past the Wolves and take a 6-5 lead into the halftime.  The third quarter was even as both teams traded goals back and fourth and at the end of three still only one goal separated the teams with the Wildcats holding onto a 9-8 lead. The fourth quarter started out with Timber Creek two men  down. One three minute  non-releasable stick penalty as well as a carry over from a slash with :12 left in the third.  Winter Park took advantage and stretched the lead to three goals and held on for a 14-10 win. Thatcher Clark  the Wildcats with four goals and two assists while Creer added four goals of his own as well as an assist.  Steven Torres had a great night for the Wolves with four goals and three assists while sophomore Nate Gillan scored a hat trick and one assist.
