Zachary Tamburello Named New Girls’ Coach at Oak Hall

Oak Hall School announced on Monday that Zachary Tamburello has been named Girl’s Lacrosse Coach. Tamburello replaces Gigi Roark who retired after three seasons to spend time with her Grandchild. “We are very excited to bring Zach to Gainesville and welcome him to the Oak Hall Community! Zach consistently impressed all who he met during the process and I am confident he will be able to lead out young team with great skill building on the solid base that was established by Coach Roark” said Jeffrey A. Malloy, Oak Hall’s Director of Athletics. Tamburello will come to Gainesville from Warrenton, Virginia where he coached the Fauquier High School Girl’s Lacrosse Team since the spring of 2012. Under his leadership, he led the Falcons to three consecutive regional playoff appearance and helped capture the first district championship for the school. In 2014, he was named coach of the year for the “Battlefield-Group”. Tamburello also serves as a Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator for the Wolfpack Lacrosse Club in Woodbridge, Virginia. A graduate of Radford University, he also worked as a Volunteer Head Coach with the Radford University Girl’s Cialis Lacrosse Club. “I’m very thankful for the opportunity that the Oak Hall administration has given me. I am extremely excited to the get the season rolling and build on the success of this accomplished program” said Tamburello. “I feel very fortunate that Zach has accepted this position. It was very important for us to put in place a coach that can continue the success our program has achieved. Zach’s experience at the college and high school level and his success at building a high school program into a perennial winner is quite remarkable. I am excited to have him get started working with our girls and filling out his staff” said Malloy. Oak Hall School is a private-independent school serving 800 students for the Gainesville Community in grades PK-12 since 1970. The athletic program has been named the top program in the state of Florida on five occasions for private schools by the Florida High School Athletic Association for their Floyd E. Lay All-Sports Trophy. During the 2011-2012 year, the school was recognized for their sportsmanship winning the Fred E. Rozzelle Sportsmanship Award presented by the FHSAA.
