Kennesaw State University

Why did you choose this college?
I chose Kennesaw State University for the amazing coaching, team culture and loaction. One of the most important things to me when I was searching for a school were the academic offerings. in particular, Kennesaw State allows their athletes to major in nursing (which is my intented major) and offers one of the best nursing programs in the state.

What Advice Would You Give Those Starting the Recruiting Process?
Start early!!! Start going to camps, making highlight videos, and sending emails as soon as possible. Also, when looking at schools, it’s a good idea to see how your skills and style of play match with others they have commited.

Who Would You Like to Thank for Getting You to Here?
First and foremost, I want to thank my parents who have given me endless love and support and provided me with all the resources needed to make this dream a reality. The coaches at Kennesaw State University who saw my potential and believed in me. I want to thank my high school Varsity coaches at Creekside and my club coaches at M&D Orlando, Chris Robinson and Melissa Villanti, who allowed me to play positions that best showcase my skills. AJ Basso at Tork Sports Performace, who has been working with me on strength training, speed and agility. Chris Bocklet, for providing the best and most positive small group lacrosse skills training around. And finally, Ann Bomleny, who was always been a wonderful friend to our family and supported us throughout the recruitment process.

What are your first memories of the sport?
I would say my first real memory was when I played my first lacrosse game in 5th grade. I was so small and inexperienced and our program was still growing and it didn’t have a 5th/6th grade team, so I had to play up with the 7th and 8th graders. The girls were huge, but I remember trying to get in there and make an interception on defense.

What is Your Favorite Memory From Your High School Career?
My favorite memory at Creekside would be in my Freshman year when I scored back to back goals with less than a minute left on the clock, tying up the game against Nease, where we went into overtime and went on to win the game in sudden death.

What is Your Stick Brand? And Why?
I use a Gait Apex. This stick has a perfect pockect and is very easy to break in. Also, the Apex has a release that allows for a harder and faster shot.

Which Lacrosse Player Do You Most Want to Have a Meal With and Why?
I would love to have a meal with Caitlyn Wurzburger because as a player from Florida, she showed that our state produces great lacrosse talent and has really made a name for herself in her first two years at UNC. I also appreciate the fact that her assist record is higher than her scoring record, which proves she is a truly unselfish player and I respect that.

Do You Watch College & Pro Games and What Are You Watching for to Make You a Better Player?
I watch both college and professional games and carefully study what the middies are doing off the line when the draw goes up and also how the attackers dodge past their defenders on a 1v1. I try to take what I see and figure out how to incorporate it the next time I am on the field.

What’s Your Go-To Meal After a Game?
I would definitely say Salsa’s Cocina….their steak bowls are the best!

What’s the One Thing Your Teammates Would be Surprised to Know About You?
That I am very superstitious and have to where a particular type of rubber band in my hair on game days.
