Trying to point out a flaw in Gulf Breeze lacrosse star Noah Haas’ game seems like an exercise in futility.

Something more productive — and easier — would be putting together a list of all the ways the senior attack/midfielder has benefited Gulf Breeze, which capped off an unbeaten regular season with a 9-3 win over Pensacola Catholic on Thursday night.

It’s the first unbeaten regular season for Gulf Breeze (18-0, 14-0 District 1), and the Dolphins have done it behind a monster year from Haas, who scored five goals in the win over Catholic and has 77 goals and 43 assists on the season.

Teammate Marcus Curry says Haas could play any position on the field.

First-year Gulf Breeze head coach Earle McCauley praises Haas’ lacrosse IQ.

During Thursday’s win, Catholic switched to a zone defense midgame. Haas went above and beyond his role as team captain and alerted Gulf Breeze’s attack to switch up the offense before his coaches had time to made the call.

It’s something that has happened regularly this season.

“He has a high, high, high lacrosse IQ,” McCauley said. “Yeah, he’s got the 103 miles-per-hour shot. But he doesn’t just sit up there and crank it. He’s got a good face and when someone on defense slides he’s not afraid to dump a pass across.
