District 14 – Newsome Continues Its’ Dominance, Will Bloomingdale Catch Up This Year?
Written by Lee Roggenburg on . Posted in Central Boys, Featured Posts, Florida Lacrosse News, High School.
Now we are getting into the territory of where the sport most grew last year, the area east of Tampa down towards the Fort Myers area. We start with District 14, the long-time provenance of Newsome and last year they continued their streak of district titles and made it to the Round of 16 before bowing to Jesuit of Tampa. Newsome finished at #19 in the Final FLN Poll.
We also are getting into the territory of where Tampa Lax Report also covers previews and since I only got one questionnaire returned so far I will also include the link to TLR’s previews.
The MaxPreps District 2018 Records seem incomplete and the new FHSAA school listings have this now as Bloomingdale, Durant, Freedom (Tampa – District 16 last year), Newsome and Wharton (District 16 last year) so there’s been some shuffling in the area.
Last season’s Regular Season records via MaxPreps (Note: possibility not all results were uploaded):
