District 31 – Gulliver And the Lilliputians

Might as well be honest about this.
Gulliver Prep. Pretty easy.
No one else is close. Unfortunately.
Gulliver plays a tough out of district schedule because they have to. Last year they were eliminated in the FHSAA second round by Belen and those two schools have evolved quite the rivalry the last few years when they were in the same district. Last year it was Belen going forward to the Final Eight and in all likelihood they will find themselves in the Round of 16 matched up again.
Coral Reef has a new head coach in John Howard and the same is at Miami Palmetto with Austin Anderson and they will need plenty of time and more support to make this district even modestly competitive.
One of the more interesting things during my preparation for this season is the incompetence of Killian High School in being able to give me a name of a coach. I did leave the AD messages and no one got back to me. There are TWO games listed on the MaxPreps schedule, both with Coral Reef. The Killian Boys HS Page is blank. Do we need a milk carton ad? In 2017 this program won 6 games and in 2016 it won 7 and last year it won 5 . . . why is this sport, growing so well in many other parts of Miami and surrounding suburbs, so out of favor in this school that I can’t get any information about the program?
