District 32 – Key West Should Repeat
Written by Lee Roggenburg on . Posted in Featured Posts, Florida Lacrosse News, High School, Southeast Boys.
We now get to the geographically most challenged district in the state. Key West to Florida Christian is 151 miles. For a DISTRICT game. Of course, that is the price to pay for growing up in Key West . . . well, that and the hurricane evacuations you have to go through.
Key West started from scratch a few years ago and already has surpassed their district rivals, although both Coral Shores games were competitive last season and they gave a solid effort in the FHSAA first round versus Gulliver. Although they didn’t win any, they did play a nice out of district schedule, with Belen, Western, AH-Plantation and St. Augustine among others, gave them a good grounding. Will the other schools in the district commit this way to grow their programs?
If not then this will be Key West’s district for years to come.
