Some heavyweights this year in the region, with Plant and Newsome already playing two Top 10 matchups already, with a third meeting quite possible in this Region’s final. Plant has swept the first two but both games were highly competitive. On the Newsome side of the bracket they will likely face Riverview, also a Top 15 team who good wins this year.
And then you have Mitchell, which should get their big shot in Round One should they get past Steinbrenner, a team they beat 13-9 in the regular season. Plant is waiting.
In District 9 it should be Mitchell making their first bracket in all likelihood.
In District 10 it’s Plant, nothing to add.
In District 11 it’s Newsome as they’ve handled their district games easily.
In District 12, it’s Riverview and Gulf Coast on a collision course in the finals, with Riverview winning the regular season game at home by 5 goals. This is the only one with a likely competitive final of the last three districts.
Should serve hold we’ll see a solid matchup in Riverview and Newsome but it will take some heavy lifting to take Plant down this year, as they look for their first Final Four after missing the brackets since 2016 (assuming the FHSAA Record Book is accurate).
