MELBOURNE, Fla. – Following an outstanding career in the Crimson and Gray, Sara Grenier of the Florida Tech women’s lacrosse team has been selected to compete in the IWLCA Senior All-Star Game.
Grenier, who was named to the All-South roster, will get to close out her collegiate career against the North Team on Saturday, June 2 at the U.S. Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Maryland. She is the second player in program history to be chosen to compete in the Senior All-Star Game, joining Allie Modica in 2017.
The four-year starter for the Panthers put the finishing touches on her stellar career in 2018, racking up 79 points, including a school-record 69 goals, and a personal-best 25 ground balls. Her goal total led the Sunshine State Conference this season. Highlighting her dominant senior campaign, Grenier scored her 200th career goal in a victory over No. 13 Limestone on Feb. 23.
The Oakland, Maine product posted 17 multi-goal games this season and finished with at least four goals in 12 games, including five goals on six different occasions. Grenier also produced six points in four games in 2018.
The 2017 IWLCA Second Team All-American selection recently garnered her second consecutive placement on the IWLCA All-South Region First Team. Grenier also received her fourth straight All-SSC First Team nod in 2018, becoming the first women’s lacrosse player in conference history to earn First Team accolades in four consecutive years.
The 2017-18 Florida Tech Female Athlete of the Year, Grenier concluded her time at Florida Tech as the program’s all-time leader in points (270) and goals (231). She holds the Top-3 single-season goal totals in program history and is the leader with 54 career free position goals.
