Game Preview: Launch Head to Boston in First of Four Road Games

via the Launch press release   The last time the Launch and Cannons met this season was in the Launch Pink Out Game, May 10 at FAU Stadium, where the Cannons overpowered the Launch squad 15-9. The offense started off fast but was slowed down in the second half. Nick Mariano, Kieran McArdle, Sergio Salcido and Dylan Molloy all had two goals a piece in the matchup. Austin Kaut made 18 saves in cage. Launch attackmen, Dylan Molloy, Kieran McArdle and Ryan Drenner have accounted for 51 goals this season, while the long pole defensemen group comprised of PT Ricci, Tucker Durkin, Jarrod Neumann and Alec Tulett have been an equally solid unit, picking up 37 groundballs and 17 caused turnovers. This time around, the Launch will have the team’s first round draft pick, Jules Heningburg, who has already scored four points in his two games as a professional. The team also gets back Connor Buczek for this game, after missing the first matchup with the Cannons. The 2017 All-Star midfielder will provide depth in the midfield and is a potent two-point scoring threat. Last year, Buczek was second on the team in scoring and led the squad in two-point goals with four. Coach Tom Mariano made some additional roster moves early this week to prepare for the, “biggest game of the year” as he told LSN. Luke Duprey was added to the 25-man roster from the Bayhawks for a 2019 Supplemental Draft second round pick. New rookies, Jake Miller, accomplished Brown defenseman, and Jack Concannon will join the squad this week for their MLL debuts. Concannon, the former Hofstra goalie and 2018 Third Team All-American, will act as Kaut’s backup this week. On the other side of that, the Cannons have added the first overall pick from the 2018 MLL Collegiate Draft and 2018 Tewaaraton Finalist, Trevor Baptiste at face-off. However, the coaching staff and Launch squad are focused and Coach Mariano said they are ready to, “right the ship and play like we are capable of and do our job.” Watch the game from home on LSN! Game starts at 6PM!
