  • The Dolphins enter Tuesday’s contest with a 1-2 record, while the meeting marks the third game of the season for the Titans (1-1).
  • Tuesday’s game marks the fifth chapter in the all-times series with Detroit Mercy, and the third time the teams have met at D.B. Milne Field.
  • Junior Eric Applegate leads the Southern Conference and ranks in the top 30 (27th) in the nation with 4.33 points per game.
  • Senior Hunter Forbes leads the SoCon and ranks 10th nationally in both faceoff win percentage (.658, 50-75) and ground balls per game (8.33).
  • The matchup marks Jacksonville’s second of three contests in eight days, as the Dolphins fell at No. 17 Marquette, 11-10 last Saturday (Feb. 17), and welcome No. 4/5 Ohio State this Sunday (Feb. 25) for the 2018 Moe’s Lacrosse Classic.

  • The Tians enter their fourth year under the direction of head coach Chris Kolon.
  • Detroit Mercy finished the 2017 season with a 5-11 record that included a three-game win streak in March with wins over Manhattan, Quinnipiac, and Siena.
  • Senior midfielder Charlie Hayes was named Preseason All-MAAC while the Titans were selected fourth in the Preseason MAAC Coaches’ Poll.
  • The Titans are coming off an 8-7 overtime victory at Mercer last Sunday (Feb. 18). Detroit Mercy posted four fourth-quarter goals to send the game into OT, where freshman Brett Erskine tallied the game-tying goal and the eventual game-winner.

  • The Dolphins are 2-2 in the all-time series with Detroit Mercy.
  • Jacksonville is 2-0 in the series when playing in Duval, with victories coming in the teams’ inaugural meeting in 2011 (10-8) and in 2013 (9-8 in overtime).
