via JU press release   JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – For the third straight year, some of the brightest stars in Major League Lacrosse will migrate to Jacksonville University on Friday, Oct. 26 and face off with the Dolphin men’s lacrosse team in a charity exhibition game and community celebration of lacrosse unlike any other in northeast Florida – the World’s Largest Outdoor Lacrosse Party. It is rare that college kids have the opportunity to compete against some of the best lacrosse players in the world,” stated Jacksonville head coach  John Galloway, now in his third year at the helm of the program. “Our student-athletes will get that chance to do just that, while also raising money for an amazing organization at Nemours Children’s Specialty Care. The atmosphere we have created on the field with our beer garden and sideline access makes this the most enjoyable lacrosse event in Florida. I can’t wait to see the entire North Florida lacrosse community come out in waves to watch world-class lacrosse as we support a world-class organization and great cause.” Similar to last year, proceeds from the event will benefit Nemours Children’s Specialty Care in Jacksonville. Nemours works with Wolfson Children’s Hospital, University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville, UF Health/Shands Hospital, and Mayo Clinic Florida to provide life-changing care for children, from newborns to age 18, with common and complex conditions. Last year’s event raised over $2,000 for Nemours. Unique to this year’s event will be a pair of clinics held prior to the start of the game. From 2-5 pm, US Lacrosse and BSN Sports will team up to host a free coaches clinic and later from 5-6 pm, a players clinic,  open to players of all ages, will be held for $20 and will include a ticket to the game. Among the pros, fans will have the opportunity to see 2018 FIL World Champions with Team USA, Jordan Wolf, Joel White, and MVP Michael Ehrhardt, along with Bronze Medalist with the Iroquois National Team, Randy Staats. A handful of former Dolphin standouts will also suit up for the MLL All-Stars – 2018 graduates Ryan Beville, McLean Chicquen, and Hunter Forbes were selected in this past spring’s MLL Collegiate Draft, while Duncan Clancy ’14 played for the Florida Launch.
