Baltimore, Md. – For the first time in the history of the Lynn University men’s lacrosse program, the Fighting Knights will have representation at the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Senior All-Star Game as defender Evan P. Kalish was selected to the South squad in the Division I/II contest. This prestigious event pins the best seniors in the South from all of NCAA Division I and Division II in an All-Star game against their peers from the North. Of the 27 players on the 2019 South roster, Kalish is one of just five players chosen from NCAA Division II and is also the first ever selected from Lynn University. “USILA has done a great job of showcasing seniors who have had successful lacrosse careers,” stated Lynn head coach Brian Kingsbury. “Evan came to Lynn University as a graduate student, effectively completing his master’s degree in one year. An intimidating factor and great on-ball defenseman, Evan will represent Lynn University well on this field of play.” A 2019 All-Sunshine State Conference Second Team honoree, Kalish started every game in the defensive unit this year in his one and only season donning the Blue and White. His 22 caused turnovers are the second most in single-season program history while he ranked sixth this year around the SSC. Kalish led all Lynn defenders in ground balls and committed just one turnover all season. The 2019 USILA Senior All-Star Games are slated for Friday, May 24. Tierney Field at the US Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Md. will serve as the backdrop for both contests with the Div. III game kicking things off at 5:00 p.m., followed by the Div. I/II contest at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free and Lax Sports Network will stream both contests. View the USILA release HERE.
