MLL: Dallas Rattlers Re-Sign Galloway and White

  via MLL press release
FRISCO, Texas (December 1, 2017) – The Dallas Rattlers announced on Friday that both All-Star goalie John Galloway and All-Star defenseman Joel White have agreed to contracts for the 2018 season, the team’s first roster transactions since announcing its relocation from Rochester last month. Both Galloway and White filed for Player Movement at the start of the offseason. To make room for Galloway and White on the 23-man roster, the team waived midfielders Jack Curran and Kyle Rowe. Galloway, 28, went 8-5 with a .541 save percentage in 13 games for the Rattlers last year. Seven goalies in MLL made more than 10 starts in 2017 and Galloway posted the best goals against average among that group at 11.57. He was named to the All-Star Game three straight seasons from 2014-16 and has a 12.20 goals against average and .538 save percentage in 89 career MLL games. Over the last four seasons, Galloway has led the league in goals against average on two occasions (2016, 2014) and has finished among the top three goalies in that category four times in the last five years. A product of Syracuse, Galloway was selected by the Rattlers with the 20th-overall pick in the 2011 Collegiate Draft. White, 28, had four goals, one assist and 28 groundballs in eight games for the Rattlers last season. The second-overall pick in the 2011 Draft, White ranked in the top 10 in the league in groundballs five straight seasons from 2012-16 and was selected to the All-Star Game three straight years from 2014-16. He has 52 points and 434 groundballs in 78 career games since 2011. In 2014, he posted career highs in games (14), goals (5) and groundballs (81) while leading the Rattlers to the MLL Championship Game. The Cortland, N.Y. native graduated from Syracuse as the program’s all-time leader in groundballs (283), points by a defensive player (28) and goals by a defensive player (18). Dallas still has six players from last year’s team – Jeremy Boltus, Ned Crotty, John Lade, Jordan MacIntosh, Mike Manley and John Ranagan – who have filed for Player Movement. If those players do not agree to contracts with new teams by Dec. 8, Dallas can add them to the 23-man protected roster for 2018.
