Why did you choose this college?
Moravian offered me the best combination of the academic program and athletics. It’s a great school with a family feel. Coach Carty and the staff at the school made me feel welcome and I think the team is ready to do great things. I grew up in the Lehigh Valley before moving to Florida so that also was a factor.
What are your first memories of the sport?
I started to like lacrosse when my older brother started playing back in 2003. I switched over from baseball when I was nine and have loved it ever since.
What part of the process was most surprising to you about the recruiting process and what would you like to pass on to those who are going to face it in the future?
I focused on certain size schools that offered Environmental Science from the start so that helped me narrow down the schools. I talked or texted with 51 coaches over the last 18 months so it can be a bit overwhelming. I found the smaller schools also offered the best scholarship opportunities and the chance to make an impact early. Focus on the school and make sure that’s where you want to be if lacrosse wasn’t in the picture.
Who would you like to thank for helping you get here?
I would like to thank my parents, my brothers and Coach Burdick, Coach Blackburn and Coach Madden. I also want to thank Coach Andrew Cox who helped me get on the rec team when we moved to Florida and I switched from baseball.
