BOSTON (May 8, 2018) – Florida Launch goalie Austin Kaut was named the Warrior Defensive Player of the Week for Week 3 after backstopping a 16-7 win over the Denver Outlaws on Sunday.
Kaut, 26, made 18 saves on 25 shots on goal for a .720 save percentage in the win. He limited Denver to one goal in the first quarter and held them scoreless with four saves in the fourth quarter. Kaut became the first goalie to hold the Outlaws to seven goals or less in a game since Boston’s Kip Turner allowed five goals on July 31, 2010. He improved to 2-1 on the season and now leads all goalies with a 10.00 goals against average and .634 save percentage.
A product of Penn State, Kaut was drafted by the Cannons with the 19th pick in the 2014 Collegiate Draft. The Launch acquired him via trade with Boston midway through the 2015 season.
