PBA: Sailfish Women’s Lacrosse Comes Up Short Against Saint Leo Lions

  via PBA press release – photo by Ron Hilliard   ST. LEO, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic women’s lacrosse came away on the short side of a 21-3 final score against Saint Leo on Saturday.

PBA was able to keep it close early as Chanel Nassir notched her 11th goal of the season three minutes in. That goal – assisted by Kate LeBlanc – kept the ‘Fish within one at 2-1 but the Lions started a run of eight straight goals that put the game out of reach.

Grace Bartlinski added a goal, her team leading 32nd, 5:30 before halftime but the Lions added four more to lead 14-2 at the half. Bartlinski added her 33rd of the year to start the second half, assisted by Julia Del Carmen but the Lions (11-2, 2-0 SSC) scored the final seven goals.

Dom Barber led PBA with three ground balls and also caused two turnovers. Jasmine Rogell was credited with two ground balls and two caused turnovers.

The Sailfish will return home to host Florida tech on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
