WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic women’s lacrosse was unable to withstand a late first half run from North Greenville as the Crusaders defeated the Sailfish 14-8 on Wednesday night.

PBA got on the board first as Chanel Nassir notched her first of three goals on the night. After NGU scored twice Dom Barber tied the game at 2-2. The teams traded the next four goals as Grace Bartlinski scored both goals for PBA.

After the game was tied 4-4 with Bartlinski’s second goal at the 13:48 mark, the Crusaders scored six straight that gave them the cushion they never gave up. Julia del Carmen and Nassir each added a goal before the half. A low scoring second half saw only five total goals with NGU edging PBA 3-2.

Bartlinski joined Nassir with three goals on the night whit Barber adding three assists to her one goal. Del Carmen also had an assist on the night. Sarah Vernarelli made four saves in goal for the Sailfish while also leading the team with four ground balls.

The Sailfish are back in action on Friday as they host Emmanuel (Ga.) at 7 p.m.
