PBA Women: Sailfish Fall To Davenport Monday Afternoon

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic fell behind big early and never recovered on Monday night, falling to Davenport 24-6.

The Sailfish struggled early as the Panthers (1-1) scored the first seven goals of the game. PBA finally got on the board midway through the first half as Grace Bartlinskiscored the first of her two goals. Chanel Nassir added a first half goal after Bartlinski’s second. In the final two minutes of the half the ‘Fish (1-3) scored back-to-back goals for the only time as Morgan LeBlanc and Julia del Carmen found the net 38 seconds apart.

It was all Panthers in the second half as DU scored 11 of the half’s 12 goals including the final 10. Ryann Deuel and Taylor Ries each scored six goals with Deuel added five assists and Ries adding four of her own.

PBA took 19 shots in the game with 12 on frame. Davenport put up 35 shots with 31 on target. Sarah Vernarellimade seven stops for the Sailfish.

PBA is back in action on Thursday as they host Gannon University at 7 p.m.
