WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic’s women’s lacrosse team couldn’t measure up to Gannon University on Thursday night, falling 21-6 to the Golden Knights.

The Sailfish (1-4) fell behind 4-0 early as Gannon (1-0) scored four times in the first 5:14. The Sailfish got on the board three minutes later as Dom Barber scored the first of her three goals. Barber scored her second with just under 10 minutes to play in the first half and notched her third just over a minute into the second half.

PBA had a nice run to start the second half, scoring the first three goals as Morgan LeBlanc and Alyssa Yates followed Barber. Chanel Nassir added a goal later in the half. Barber is second on the team with 12 goals after tonight’s hat trick and LeBlanc is third with eight. Both Barber and LeBlanc each added an assist.

The Golden Knights outshot PBA 30-13 and put 25 shots on target. PBA made four saves in the game with Gannon making three. Gannon was also highly successful on draw control battles, taking 19 of the 27 with Leilani King winning eight. Barber led PBA with four.

The Sailfish are back in action on Monday at 7 p.m. as they host Lee in the first of three home games during Spring Break.
