Congratulations to Marshall for his college choice and good luck in the future! Name Marshall Germond High School Sarasota-Riverview Graduation Year 2018 College Choice University of Indianapolis Club Affiliations Sarasota Seahawks and West Florida LC     Why did you choose this college? U. Indy is where I felt most at home. I immediately connected with the players & coaches. They have a nationally recognized Kinesiology & Physical Therapy program, a beautiful campus and a very competitive Division II lacrosse program with great athletic facilities and resources. What are your first memories of the sport? Earning the team MVP at the end of my first season. I started playing lacrosse in 8th grade and had to learn the basics quickly. If it wasn’t for my parents encouraging me to stick with it and Coach Carver vowing to make me a lacrosse player, I’m probably not writing this! What part of the process was most surprising to you about the recruiting process and what would you like to pass on to those who are going to face it in the future? The most surprising part of the process was the number of great colleges & lacrosse programs out there. It forced me to think about what I was truly looking for in a college and a lacrosse program. It’s an exciting and sometimes stressful process, realizing you are not only choosing a home for four years but are making one of the first major decisions of your life. The advice I would give someone is to start your college search early, discover what is important to you in a college and choose a place where you will feel at home and be successful, with or without lacrosse. Who would you like to thank for helping you get here? I wanted to thank Coach Carver at Sarasota Seahawks LC, Coach DeLisser, Coach Asselstine & Coach Hunt at Riverview High School, Coach Burdick and all my coaches at West Florida LC, my teachers, my teammates and especially my family! I would not be where I am today without their support, guidance and wisdom.
