In addition to the eight home contests, the schedule is also filled with matchups against some of the top NCAA Division II men’s lacrosse teams in the nation. Florida Southern’s opponents for the 2018 campaign include three teams that advanced to the NCAA Tournament, four conference champions and five squads that finished 2017 ranked inside the USILA Top 20. FSC’s 2018 foes went a combined 119-83 a year ago.     The season gets started with a pair of road games at Belmont Abbey (Feb. 23) and Catawba (Feb. 25). Belmont Abbey went 12-5 a year ago and finished as the Conference Carolinas regular-season and tournament runner-up to eventual national champion Limestone, and was ranked No. 12 nationally at the end of the year. The Moccasins play their first home game on their new field on March 4 against Emmanuel and play host to Wingate on March 6. Wingate went 13-4 a year ago, won the South Atlantic Conference tournament, and advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals before falling to Limestone. The Bulldogs ended the 2017 season ranked No. 9 in the country. Following the back-to-back home games, the Mocs hit the road again to face Saint Rose (March 9) and Le Moyne (March 11). Le Moyne was 14-3 in 2017, won the Northeast 10 Tournament title, advanced to the NCAA Tournament, and ended the season ranked No. 2 in the country. Florida Southern returns home for three-straight games beginning with Colorado Mesa (March 17), a team that won 16 games last season and ended the year ranked No. 14 nationally. The Mocs open Sunshine State Conference play against Palm Beach Atlantic on March 24. The Sailfish are in their first season as a program, as is SSC foe Embry-Riddle, which Florida Southern will face on the road on April 21. UAH visits Lakeland on March 28 to wrap up the homestand, and the remained of the schedule comes against SSC opponents. The Mocs are at Lynn on March 31 and head to Tampa for a pivotal SSC showdown with the Spartans on April 4. Tampa won the SSC regular-season and conference tournament titles last year, advanced to the semifinals of the NCAA Tournament, and finished the year ranked eighth nationally. The Mocs close out their home slate against Rollins (April 7), Saint Leo (April 11) and Florida Tech (April 14) before ending the year at Embry Riddle.
