
SSC Men: #2 Spartans Win Back and Forth Battle with #19 Knights, 7-6!

BOX SCORE
BOCA RATON, Fla. – The top-ranked University of Tampa Spartans traveled down south to face the Lynn University Fighting Knights. Both teams came into the game undefeated, with the Spartans able to claw out the victory to remain unbeaten on the season.
INSIDE THE MATCHUP:
Final: Tampa 7, Lynn 6
Records: Tampa (6-0, 5-0 SSC), Lynn (3-1, 2-1 SSC)
All-Time Series: Tampa leads the series 7-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
FIRST QUARTER
Lynn jumped on top early in the game, scoring the first two goals to give them an early 2-0 lead. The Spartans would score the first goal of the game with 7:09 left in the quarter, as Jake Mosher McGraw
would find the back of the net. After a Lynn goal, the Spartans cut the lead to 3-2, as Jack Wood would score the second goal for Tampa. || Lynn 3, Tampa 2
SECOND QUARTER
Lynn would again score first in the second quarter to extend their lead to 4-2. Following that goal, UT would score the next three goals, as Bryan Wright scored twice and Ben French scored once to give the Spartans their first lead of the game. ||Tampa 5, Lynn 4
THIRD QUARTER
In the third quarter of play, each of the two teams would score two goals apiece. French would score with 8:36 left in the quarter and Wood would find the back of the net with 2:06 left to play. The Wood goal would prove to be the game-winner.
FOURTH QUARTER
Neither team was able to score in the final frame. Blake Ulmer
would make three saves in the final quarter to preserve the Spartan victory.
INSIDE THE STATS:


- Ben French, Jack Wood, and Bryan Wright would each score two goals in the win.
- Ross Dickerson won 7-14 faceoff attempts while picking up five groundballs.
- Matthew Beddow
would lead the defense with two caused turnovers.
