Additionally, the Hatters were picked to finish fourth in the upcoming season in voting by league ehad coaches.
McCarthy, a senior goalie, was a unanimous selection to the preseason all-conference team. Throughout the shortened 2020 season she saved 50 shots and ended the campaign with a save percentage of .373. McCarthy was the only Hatter to see time in net, totaling 300 total minutes. In fact, she has played every minute in goal for the Hatters since the start of the 2019 season.
Nikolai, a senior defender, was recognized for her all-round play on Stetson’s defense. She finished last season tied for fifth on the team in ground balls, picking up four including a pair against Central Michigan. She put up a strong front in the 8-meter and caused one turnover.
Riley, a graduate student and one of the top attackers in the conference, was another unanimous pick. In 2020, Reagan led Stetson and the ASUN in assists with 13 in just five games. She added four goals to her stat line totaling 17 points throughout the year with a game-high of five assists coming against Oregon. For her career, Reagan has 45 goals and 88 assists in 39 games. She led the ASUN in assists in both 2018 and 2019.
The Hatters begin the 2021 season on Feb. 20 when they visit Campbell.
