BALTIMORE, Md. – The University of Tampa men’s lacrosse team was selected as the No. 6 squad in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association/Nike Preseason Coaches Poll, as announced by the association office Tuesday.
The Spartans hauled in 281 points after reaching the 2017 NCAA Division II Semifinals a season ago. Runner up Merrimack sits No. 2, while Le Moyne, Adelphi, and Pace picked up No. 3, 4 and 5 respectively.
Florida Tech and Saint Leo were selected as the No. 18 and 19 spots and were the only other Sunshine State Conference programs to earn a top-20 ranking in the preseason USILA/Nike poll. Florida Southern, Lynn, and Rollins were all listed as receiving votes.
