TAMPA, Fla. – The No. 15 University of Tampa women’s lacrosse team avenged a loss earlier in the week with a victory over visiting University of Alabama in Huntsville.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
1st Half
- UT scored the game’s first two goals, with scores from Caroline Forester and Claire Swanson in the first six minutes.
- The Chargers would score the next two goals to knot the game at 2-2.
- The Spartans would finish the half with seven unanswered goals in a period of just over 11 minutes.
- Maggie Gladden broke the tie with a man-up goal.
- Freshman Kayla Kosubinsky added a pair of first-half goals to match Swanson.
- Rachel Crawford, Natalie Carraway, and Allie Popelar also added a goal in the half.
- Forester accounted for two of Tampa’s first three second-half scores with Swanson netting the other.
- Carraway tallied a pair of goals in the half.
- Popelar scored making it 13-3 as UT enjoyed its first 10-goal advantage of the contest.
- Forester, Swanson and Carraway each registered three goals.
- It was a six-point performance for Carraway as she also recorded a team-high three assists.
- Rom and Crawford each had two assists.
- Forester and Carraway held team honors with four shots apiece.
- Abby Coccagna finished with a team-high four ground balls.
- Swanson notched seven draw controls to lead all Spartans.
- UT’s team leader in caused turnovers was Alexa Scudillo with three.
- Freshman goalkeeper Bridget Sutter recorded the win in net as she finished with seven saves in just over 56 minutes of action.
- Taylor Sisk recorded two saves in the final minutes.
- The balanced effort saw a total of eight Spartans in the goal column.
- Tampa set a single-season record for wins as eight surpasses the seven-win inaugural season.
- A total of 26 Spartans saw action.
