BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn University men’s lacrosse team set four school records in a 25-7 victory over Davis & Elkins, Thursday afternoon. The win improves the Fighting Knights record to 5-3 on the season.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
– Less than two weeks ago, Lynn set the single-game goal record in a 24-4 win over Dominican
– The Fighting Knights reset the record earlier today with 25 goals against the Senators
– Lynn led 14-5 at half and 16-6 after three quarters
– The Fighting Knights added nine goals in the fourth quarter with mainly their second and third string players on the field
– The Fighting Knights outshot the Senators 69-24, were a perfect 18-for-18 on clears, led 61-27 in ground balls and won 31 of the games’ 36 faceoffs
– Lynn also posted schools records in points (40), shots (69) and ground balls (61)
– Senior Jalen Stanton scored the game’s first goal and graduate student Stephen Becker added two more as Lynn opened the game with a 4-0 lead just 6:28 into action
– Becker scored the final goal of the first quarter for a 7-2 cushion and Lynn followed with the game’s next four goals to extend the lead to 11-2
– Davis & Elkins scored the final goal of the first half and the first two of the second to cut its deficit to 14-7
– The Fighting Knights then rattled off the next 11 goals for the 25-7 final
– Freshman Jackson Cutter (1:43) and graduate student Reese Walker (1:10) each scored to cap the third quarter
– Sophomore Ethan McKinley and senior Ethan Yorio each scored twice in the final frame
 
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS
– Becker and sophomore Dylan Colon finished with five points each to pace Lynn
– Becker scored three times with two assists, while Colon had two goals and three assists
– Yorio scored three goals with one assist
– Walker, McKinley and sophomore Connor Houston totaled three points each
– Sophomore Camren Santos was a perfect 22-for-22 on faceoffs with 16 ground balls
– Graduate student Colin Casey needed just four saves for the victory
