Warriors Debut Black Jersey’s As Webber Takes Down SCAD

Babson Park, FL – The Webber International Men’s Lacrosse team hosted the SCAD-Savannah Bees on the Warrior Turf Field Thursday afternoon. Webber debuted new Black Saxton Dunlap jerseys as the Warriors held tough against the Bees, taking down their conference opponent 14-11.  

Houston Finlayson scored first for the Warriors after a faceoff win from Joshua Cargile. Finlayson would score again on a man-up opportunity after a minor penalty from the Bees. Jeremiah Loo would be the next Warrior to find the net, with an assist from Chase Jackson. The Bees would get two straight scores before Loo scored again to make it 4-2. SCAD would get another goal before Connor Herring scored for Webber. Cade McCarron and Blake Nelson each scored to make it 7-3 Webber, before the Bees got one more to make it 7-4 heading to the second quarter.  

Loo would score again to start the second quarter, with an assist from Christian Tapia. SCAD would get another one a few minutes later, but Finlayson’s third goal of the afternoon would negate it. The Bees would get one more before the end of the half as Webber held a 9-6 lead. 

Finlayson scored to start the third quarter for the Warriors, his fourth goal of the game. After a save from goalie Ryan PrylinskiGreyson Davidson took the ball coast-to-coast, scoring to give the Warriors an 11-6 lead. Tapia would score on a man-up opportunity, as the Warriors headed to the fourth quarter up 12-6. 

SCAD scored to start the fourth, but Nick Sheaffer would negate that with his first goal of the game. The Bees preceded to go on a 4-0 run over the next four minutes, making it 13-11 with 7:50 left in the game. Prylinski would make three more saves in the game and Herring would add an insurance goal as the Warriors took down the Bees 14-11. 

Jackson led the team with five points, all coming from assists. Loo and Finlayson each had four points, with Loo having three goals and one assist, while Finlayson had four goals. Cargile had seven groundballs while winning 14 faceoff opportunities. Dillon Ziemba had five ground balls while Dane Fasano had three caused turnovers. Prylinski made 12 saves in goal for the Warriors. 

The Warriors will be back in action on Saturday, March 30th when they travel to Williamsburg, Kentucky to take on the University of the Cumberlands Patriots. The Warriors game scheduled for March 23rd has resulted in a forfeit win for the Warriors.
