LAKE WALES, Fla- The Royals will face off against Life University in both teams’ third conference matchup at home.

The Royals face off against a strong Life university today looking for the Royals first conference game win at home. From the jump the tempo and energy of this game had both teams fighting for the lead all throughout the game. In the first Quarter of play we see a back and forth game with the score fluctuating with both teams battling it out but Abby Petrillo gets it started for the ladies tonight with scoring with 10:58 on the scoreboard and a beautiful assist from Bailey Dykes to tie the game back up for the Royals 1-1. Shortly after her beautiful assist to her teammate Bailey Dykes in under eight seconds finds an opening to score another goal unassisted to give the Royals a 2-1 lead over the Running Eagles.

With 8 minutes left in this quarter the Royals defense was looking tight allowing the offense to capitalize and Monserrat Anaya-Lopez finding her open teammate for the assist to Bailey Lightsey scoring another goal bringing the score to 3-1. With 4:35 remaining Vanessa Lynch finds the goal unassisted with the Royals leaving the quarter 4-6. Going into the second quarter, the Royals defense couldn’t find an answer from the Running Eagles defense as the gap progressed until Bailey Dykes four and a half minutes in scored another goal unassisted to bring the Royals offense back to life. Then twenty four seconds after scores again bringing the score 6-8.

At the eight minute mark Vanessa Lynch lines up in a free position shot and does not disappoint bringing the Royals back to only trailing by one. As soon as the Royals came close to bringing the score back the Eagles caught the defense sleeping, sneaking by and scoring again but right after Bailey Dykes again cut through the defense and scored again bringing the score to 8-9. With time sneaking down with six minutes left Bailey Lightsey with an assist from Bailey Dykes and Vanessa Lynch with a free position shot both capitalize on their goals but not before damage was done to the defense resulting in score at halftime to be Warner 10- Life 11.

After halftime going into the third and fourth was slow start offensively for the Royals with our first goal of the half coming with four minutes left in the thirds quarter from Bailey Lightsey who go the offense some energy breaking the ice for the second half of play not short after Bailey Dykes finds her opening scoring again leaving the third quarter 12-15. The offense refused to give up and with thirty seconds into the game Bailey Dykes off of a free position shot found the goal for her last one of the game. The last two goals came from Bailey Lightsey but it wasn’t enough as the Royals defense couldn’t find the answer for their offense and fell apart. The final score was 15-20.
