BOX SCORE

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – In the team’s final home contest of the inaugural season, the Flagler College men’s lacrosse team fell 14-6 to the University of Alabama in Huntsville at Flagler Lacrosse Field Saturday afternoon.

The Saints move to 2-12 on the year and an even 2-2 in the Peach Belt Conference. UAH improved to 8-6 while staying perfect in the PBC, 4-0.

It took some time for either team to find the back of the net, the Chargers scored first and never looked back, scoring six goals in the first quarter while keeping the Saints’ offense off the board. Ty Tom got the Saints on the board in the second quarter, making a move from behind the net and dodging a Charger defender to score his 20th goal as a Saint. About a minute later, Geraint Shaw beat Zak Welsh with a behind-the-back goal off a feed from Tom.

The work in the crease on both sides of the field today was spectacular. Flagler’s Nate Lehr recorded 20 saves, while Welsh for UAH made 17 saves. Logan Patrick caused the Chargers to commit three turnovers.

Flagler concludes the regular season next Saturday, April 30 on the road at University of Montevallo with the first faceoff set to take place at 12 p.m.
