Boca Raton, Florida – The Fighting Knights use senior day to galvanize the troops and take a 15-12 victory over Saint Leo.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  •  After an early goal by Jalen Stanton to go up 1-0, Saint Leo would score six straight and go into the second.
  • In the second quarter, Lynn would dominate defensively and offensively to take an 8-7 lead going into halftime.
  • Cal Gallagher would lead the way with two goals in the quarter, with one goal assisted by Thomas Murray.
  • The start of the second half saw Lynn pick up where they left off, with Caleb Wells scoring two of the three Fighting Knight goals in the third quarter to take an 11-7 lead.
  • A strong surge by Saint Leo in the fourth was not enough. Stanton, Xander CosenzaThomas Murray, and Mathew Ilchuk scored goals to take a 15-12 victory over Saint Leo.
  • Stanton led the way on offense with three goals, followed by five other Fighting Knights with two goals each.
  • Colin Casey would have seven saves on 19 shots against.

Men’s Lacrosse Season Ends in Boca Raton

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Saint Leo men’s lacrosse team ended on the road in a 15-12 loss at the hands of the Lynn Fighting Knights. Head Coach Brad Jorgensen led the 2022 Lions to a 6-8 overall record, 1-6 in the Sunshine State Conference during his 17th year at the helm.
 
Saint Leo jumped out to a four-goal lead, outscoring Lynn 6-2 in the first quarter. The Fighting Knights snapped back, taking the second quarter 6-1, for an 8-7 halftime lead. The hosts added three more to their advantage in the third.
 
Saint Leo attempted to climb out of the four-goal hole and won the fourth quarter; 5-4. Despite the offensive burst, it would prove to be too little too late for the Green and Gold.
 
Tyler Eames paced the offense with four points with a goal and three assists. He was helped by Justin Williams with three points, netting a pair of goals and an assist.
 
Michael Flores won 12-of-22 faceoffs for the Lions. Meanwhile, in goal, Evan Hock earned 17 saves in 60 minutes of work.
