Saints have record-breaking day in rout of Hawks

ROME, Ga. – Garrett McNulty led Flagler College with a career-high four goals in a 28-8 rout over Peach Belt Conference opponent Shorter University Saturday afternoon at Ben Brady Field.

The 28 goals broke the program’s single-game record, which was 24 vs. Shorter on April 8, 2023.

The Saints are now 5-8 overall and 1-2 in PBC play. The Hawks are now 8-7 for the season and 0-3 in PBC play.

Sixteen Saints managed to find the back of the net in today’s game. Both Colten Reynolds and Geraint Shaw had hat tricks.

Although they fell short, Cooper Roderick and Grant Sanders managed two goals apiece for the Hawks. Goalie Chase Finley had 15 saves and Rhett Thorson had six.

Matt Mitrega stood out for the Saints with 18 face-off wins and picked up nine ground balls. Saints goalie Mitchell Evans made nine saves and Nate Lehr had five.

The Saints will return April 27 at noon for their regular season finale against the University of Montevallo at the Flagler Lacrosse Field.
