BOX SCORE

CLEVELAND, Tenn. – Madison Daziel recorded her sixth multi-goal game of the year as Flagler College was upended by Lee University in a Gulf South Conference matchup at the Ray Conn Sports Complex Sunday afternoon.

Flagler drops to 7-6 overall,1-1 in GSC play while Lee improves to 6-6 on the year while staying perfect in GSC contests, moving to 3-0.

Flagler lead for the entirety of the first quarter, ending the opening 15 with a 4-2 lead. Jordan Green scored her 19th goal of the season 2 minutes into the game. Zoe Howe followed Green up with her tenth of the year. Lee responded with a free position goal from Brittney White to make the score 2-1.

Carly LaFerriere found the back of the net shortly after White to extend the lead back to two. White scored a second free position goal but Daziel recorded her first goal of the day to make the lead two again.

Both teams continued to trade goals until the final 3 minutes of the second quarter, in which Lee started an eight-goal run, which would continue until early on in the fourth quarter, scoring the final three goals of the first half, four more in the third quarter and one in the fourth before Flagler stemmed the bleeding at 13-7 courtesy of a Kate Piscopo goal in the fourth quarter.

The Saints rattled off two-man up goals in a row, one from Piscopo and one from Howe, but it would not be enough to overcome the deficit.

Lee was led by Brittney White, who posted five goals while Dariana Blanton netted four of her own.

Flagler returns home for its first GSC home game on Saturday, April 2, welcoming Short University to Flagler Lacrosse Field for a noon game.
