FLN Boys 2A Top 15 Poll for the Week Ending 3/27/27!

Written by Lee Roggenburg on . Posted in , , , .

Another week, another shuffling of the cards . . .

Ponte Vedra smothers Creekside, LHP and Nease. St. Thomas wins their first regular season game over Saint Andrew’s. Winter Park loses to Bolles and beats Montverde and Timber Creek. Plant barely survives the Cardinal Mooney upset bid. Jupiter loses to St. Edward’s. Lake Mary with a comfortable win over Hagerty.

Riverview is upset by St. Stephen’s Episcopal, and other games played turned the bottom half upside down.

My kingdom for an easy week . . .

Ponte Vedra has an easy week coming up, and their total body of work right now is the best and they looked dominant last night. Only Bartram Trail on the slate this week.

St. Thomas, when fully healthy, starts all seniors, and the SA win is as impressive as Bolles over Winter Park. Winter Park rebounded nicely and Plant gets Newsome on Wednesday. WP hosts LHP on Wednesday and resurgent Boone on Friday.

Actually, the upcoming Friday and Saturday should be must-attend . . . great games all over the state!

Lake Mary moves up with an easy week and Creekside takes their turn at #6-7 with Jupiter, which seems to be where these top teams go to re-charge.

Again, Jupiter plays such a great schedule, but 6 losses is still 6 losses.

After Newsome, we get Western, with their road win at Wellington, and they get tested Tuesday with a road game at Oxbridge. Windermere jumps to #10, with an easy win; three games this week they should sweep.

Wellington falls two slots after the loss; they have a solid Jensen Beach on the road and Palm Beach Central at home. Nease falls to #12 after a tough 1-2 week. They host Mandarin Wednesday and an injury ravaged Maclay Friday.

Steinbrenner moves up with 2 easy wins and 2 upcoming games that they should comfortably win, but their overall schedule makes it hard to see them going further.

Mitchell moves back into the Poll after going 2-0 and they have a road trip to Newsome on Friday.

Riverview-Sarasota falls to #15 due to the St. Stephen’s upset as well as the Canterbury loss; they have a home game with Jesuit of Tampa to help get their mojo back.

Gulf Coast and Timber Creek fall back out of the polls after 0-2 weeks for each of them and Boone moves up into consideration. Boone gets their shot at Winter Park on Friday. Martin County’s schedule is just not there, and the Holy Trinity win was very early. A District title would be needed to move up.
