What a week for the 2A Girls’ programs, as they played a lot of each other, as well as 1A games.

St. Thomas fell out of the top spot after their Thursday loss to Pine Crest. Plenty of time to get that ranking back, as they take on Bartram, LHP, Benjamin and Vero before the season is over!

Bartram ascends to the top position due to their win over the team that beat Vero Beach, in Hagerty.

Vero comes in at number two after yesterday’s incredible sweep of Steinbrenner and Newsome. I could really give them a co-#1 rating with BT. Will Vero repeat SA’s state title from last year to show that the two most storied programs in Florida’s lacrosse history are back in full force?

Steinbrenner held off Newsome yesterday in the third game of the round robin, but still needs to beat a Top 3 program to validate their great run of late. I suspect that with so much talent they will get that accolade soon.

A rare three-way tie at #5, as I have to reward Hagerty for the Vero win, while waiting on Ponte Vedra’s better upcoming games. The two Newsome losses yesterday only confirmed how good they are too.

There’s a bit of a gap back to Plant at #8 and the rest, as it will be up to them to prove they belong higher on the field. Boca Raton suffered their first loss to American Heritage-Plantation, while Wiregrass Ranch and Oviedo are still undefeated.
