Florida Launch Fall to Chesapeake Bayhawks on the Road 18-10

via the Launch web site
Author’s Note:  Okay, here we are.  Tomorrow night in Boca is a MUST WIN.  Technically the Launch are still third as they hold the tiebreaker over NY and Rochester.  A good start was not followed up and the offense was shut down in the last 3 quarters.  Time for a 60-minute game.  Last night the worst combo of results for the Launch.  NY over Boston and Rochester sweeping the series from Denver, where a loss to the Outlaws would likely have meant elimination in spirit, if not technically. By the way, the picture above might be the coolest one of the season . . .
Just a few days after a victory at home, the Launch end their season series against the Chesapeake Bayhawks with an even split following an 18-10 road loss. The Launch came out on the field with an electric energy, with goals from rookies Nick Mariano (4G) and Dylan Molloy (2G) to kick off the game. A six-goal scoring run in the second period gave the Bayhawks a definitive lead moving into halftime while the Launch struggled to regain their footing. With back-to-back goals from Steven Brooks (1G) and Kieran McArdle (2G) to open up the second half, the Launch appeared to have momentum as they chipped away at the Bayhawk’s lead. However, an aggressive Chesapeake defense kept the Launch to four goals in the second half as the Bayhawk’s offense continued to make their way into the Launch territory. The Launch return to FAU Stadium this Saturday, July 22 to take on the Charlotte Hounds in their final home game of 2017. For tickets, call 561-923-9067 or visit floridalaunchlacrosse.com.
