“Excited to have Jason join the staff for the 2024-25 season! His commitment to our academic support and his leadership on the defensive side of the ball will play a big role in us achieving our goals this year on and off the field,” Desko said “His energy has already made an impact on the team, and we are excited to get fall ball started!”
“Couldn’t be happier to join Coach Desko and the young men here at Keiser University,” Vergara said. “It truly is a special thing that this program has. From the support of the academic administration to our dedicated strength and athletic training team, these men have the tools and systems in place to achieve greatness on and off the field.”

Prior to the Seahawks, Vergara served as the Head Coach at Fork Union Military Academy in Virginia.

Vergara began his collegiate coaching career as a Volunteer Assistant Coach at Howard Community College; focusing on defensive coaching and conditioning. He later worked as a Defensive Coordinator with the Long Island Jesters and Oneonta State Club Lacrosse.
Coach Vergara holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the State University of New York College at Oneonta, where he played as a man down specialist.
