JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jacksonville University Athletics and the men’s lacrosse program have announced a title promotion for Associate Head Coach and now Recruiting Coordinator, Chris Perzinski. The Dolphins make the addition after another successful season for Perzinski, as the Dolphins continue to bring in some of the top talent from around the country in the offseason.

The title change reflects Coach Perzinski’s success in both his on and off the field responsibilities. “Recruitment is the lifeline of any lacrosse team, and we felt like Coach Perzinski has set himself apart nationally as one of the best identifiers of talent in the country,” said Galloway, “Our recruiting classes continue to rise in the rankings, and his vision for how we operate on the road will allow us to build a roster that can compete with the best.”

Perzinski has helped the Dolphins pull in multiple highly touted recruiting classes, while putting top tier defensive units on the field, holding 12 of 18 opponents to single digits in 2024, making a run to the conference championship last season while earning a share of the regular season title. The Dolphins finished the season at 13-5, playing a nationally competitive non-conference slate and earning an 8-1 conference record. Perzinski moves into his fourth year with the Dolphins, joining the Jacksonville staff for the 2022 season after a successful four-year stint as the head coach at Division III Elizabethtown College.

The 2023 season was much of the same for Perzinski’s on-field success, as his efforts on the defensive end helped Jacksonville to a 12-4 record, holding seven opponents to single digits, and defeating seventh-ranked and eventual national runner-up Duke 13-12, highlighting the rise to national prominence for the program.

In 2022, the Dolphins had a “year of firsts”, which included the first season with multiple ranked wins in program history, first national ranking, first 10-win season, and first SoCon regular season championship. On the defensive side, the Dolphins finished in the top-3 nationally in scoring defense, scoring margin, and caused turnovers per game.

Chris Perzinski:
“I am thrilled Coach Galloway has trusted me with this critical role to support our program. To lead the collaboration within our staff on finding the best fit to our Duval Mission will continue to be a community effort, with finding GREAT PEOPLE as a priority focus.

Identifying and connecting with the next generation of athletes to lead our locker room and grow on the field has always been a true passion of mine. The continued enhancements at Jacksonville University and our athletic department allows us to continue to be one of the most attractive options for an aspiring Men’s Lacrosse player.

We will look for players who are willing to play hard, play with emotion, and will continue to build our program under the core value, Better People Make Better Dolphins.”
