JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville University men’s lacrosse program and Head Coach John Galloway have announced title promotion for the upcoming 2025 season, naming Danielle Della Rocca as the Assistant Athletic Director of Lacrosse Operations.

A native of Port Jefferson, New York and a four-year standout for the Dolphins, Della Rocca was three times named First Team All-ASUN and twice named to the ASUN All-Tournament team, while earning ASUN Player of the Year honors as a senior in 2017 and a spot on the ASUN All-Freshman team in 2014. During her career, JU claimed four ASUN regular season titles, three ASUN tournament titles and made three appearances in the NCAA Tournament. She is one of four members of the program’s 200 Club and one of 12 members of the 100 Club, as she finished her career with 261 points and 186 goals, both of which are the most in program history.

As a member of the men’s lacrosse staff, Della Rocca has gone above and beyond in her role, helping the Dolphins move towards national prominence and become perennial conference championship contenders.

Danielle Della Rocca:
“I am incredibly humbled and grateful for this opportunity. As a former student-athlete, graduate student, and current employee of Jacksonville University, my mission has always been to enhance the lives of student-athletes and provide them with a first-class experience. Working alongside our athletes to help them achieve their goals, overcome challenges, and create lifelong memories with their best friends is a privilege and an honor that I do not take lightly.

President Cost and Athletic Director Alex Ricker-Gilbert’s dedication to this university, its athletics, and lacrosse is unparalleled. With first-class facilities, resources, and support to compete at the highest level, I cannot thank them enough for their commitment to this program and my position at this university.

The remarkable growth this program has achieved under Coach Galloway’s leadership has truly created something special. From top 5 wins to building a national presence and brand, I am immensely grateful to Coach Galloway for trusting me to join his program five years ago. His mentorship and guidance continue to make me a better professional and, more importantly, a better person.

The future is bright for Jacksonville Lacrosse, and I’ve never been more excited to get to work. We’ve set our goals and expectations high, confident that with the right people around us, we will achieve them. I look forward to being a part of this program’s future for many years to come.”

As a key member of the staff, head coach John Galloway believes Della Rocca’s influence on the program is critical each and every day, “As we continue to grow as an organization, I recognized how important it was to maintain our executive leadership team. While lacrosse is such a big part of what we do, our program operates 365 days a year with so much behind the scenes. Danielle’s leadership, creativity, fiscal management and relationships inside and outside the university have positioned us to become a perennial contender every year. I credit her with our increase in retention, recruitment and professionalism because of the experience she provides our players and coaches. Her new role as assistant athletic director will only further empower Danielle to take our program to new heights.”
