JU: Women’s Lacrosse Heads to Virginia for Final ASUN Match Against Liberty

LYNCHBURG, VA – Jacksonville Women’s Lacrosse heads up to Virginia this weekend where they will take on Liberty in their final regular season ASUN match of the year on Saturday at 1 pm.

With a win on Saturday, The Dolphins would move to 5-0 in the conference effectively clinching the regular season title while also locking up the one seed in the conference tournament which will take place from May 5-7 in Jacksonville at Rock Stadium.

Looking back at their last game out against Delaware State, JU was dominant from start to finish defeating the Hornets by an astounding score of 25-0. In the match, Sarah Elms claimed the school record for career goals scored at 187 and also added two more goals moving her total to 189.

WHO

Liberty enters Saturday’s match with an overall record of 9-6 and are 3-0 in the ASUN. Some of their notable games this season include a 13-12 overtime win over (RV) Virginia Tech and a one goal loss to #5 Duke by a score of 8-7.

JU is currently 8-0 all time vs the Flames with their most recent match ending in a 13-8 Dolphin victory in the ASUN championship on May 8, 2021. Throughout the two team’s history Jacksonville has outscored Liberty by a total score of 162-61.
