Keiser: No. 4 Men’s Lacrosse Falls to Reinhardt in AAC Semifinal, Turns Attention to NAIA Invitational

The No. 4 Keiser Seahawks fell in the semifinal of the AAC tournament to Reinhardt on Friday afternoon in Waleska, Georgia. Keiser will now turn their attention to the NAIA Invitational which will begin on May 11 in Pensacola, Florida.

First Quarter
Keiser 2, Reinhardt 2

  • Cole Stassi got the scoring started for Keiser at the 10:07 mark to put KU ahead 1-0.
  • Keiser doubled the lead with a goal by Ryan Schwartz with 5:26 to play in the first.
  • Reinhardt would respond with two goals in less than a minute to tie the game at 2-2 heading into the second.

Second Quarter
Keiser 5, Reinhardt 5

  • The Seahawks tallied the first goal of the second quarter as Vincent Cerasuolo got on the board with 13:35 left in the period.
  • The Eagles would tie the game again with 11:48 showing.
  • 18 seconds later, Max Hiestand found the back of the net to put KU ahead 4-3.
  • With 8:45 on the clock, Schwartz netted his second of the game to up the Keiser lead to 5-3.
  • RU would end the second the same way they ended the first with two goals before the end of the half to tie the game at 5-5 going into the break.
Third Quarter

Keiser 6, Reinhardt 10

  • Reinhardt would open the second half scoring just 27 seconds in to take their first lead in the contest.
  • The Eagles would tack on two more goals to extend their lead to 8-5 with 7:20 left in the third.
  • Cerasuolo would get a goal back for Keiser at the 6:28 mark to cut the lead down to 6-8.
  • Reinhardt would finish the third quarter with two more goals to take a 10-6 lead into the final quarter.
Fourth Quarter

Keiser 8, Reinhardt 12

  • Cameron Cochran picked up his second goal for the Eagles with 12:13 left in the game to push the RU lead to 11-6.
  • Schwartz would complete his hat trick with 8:01 left to play and cut the deficit to 11-7.
  • With 7:11 remaining, Hiestand found the back of the net to make it an 11-8 game.
  • The Eagles would shut the door on Keiser with a final goal at the 6:29 mark to take a 12-8 lead and hold on for the victory.

KU Highlights

  • 2: Stassi led the team with two assists on the day
  • 4/3: Schwartz led all Seahawks with four points on the day and three goals.
  • 10: Cole George stopped 10 shots in the contest for the Seahawks.
  • 13/4: Cam Provines went 13-of-23 on faceoffs in the game, scooping up a team-best four groundballs.
  • 24: Keiser put more shots on goal than Reinhardt, leading the category 24-22.
