No. 1 Keiser women’s lacrosse fell to the No. 3 Lawrence Tech Blue Devils on Tuesday evening in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Keiser 3, Lawrence Tech 1
The Blue Devils would strike first in the contest, taking the lead with 9:45 on the clock
LTU would go on to add two more goals in the quarter to jump ahead 3-0 with 4:22 showing.
Madison Andrews would tally her first goal with 3:42 remaining in the first to cut the lead down to 3-1 going into the second quarter.
Keiser 2, Lawrence Tech 4
Talia Myers would score the opening goal of the second quarter just over two minutes after it began to put the score at 3-2 in favor of LTU.
Lawrence Tech’s, Kady Waits would find the back of the net with 10:21 showing to bring the lead back up to 4-2 where it would remain going into the half.
The two goalies would shine in the second quarter with Cassidy Green stopping six shots and Anabelle Acluche saving three.
Keiser 6, Lawrence Tech 8
Sydney Passaro kicked off the third quarter with her first goal of the contest at the 14:34 mark to cut the lead to one, 4-3.
Back-to-back goals by the Blue Devils would extend their lead to 6-3 with 11:17 showing.
Andrews would respond with two goals of her own to once again bring the LTU lead down to one, 6-5.
Two more goals by Lawrence Tech brought their lead back up to 8-5 with 4:21 on the clock.
Rachel McLaughlin tallied her first of the night at the 2:20 mark to set the score at 8-6 in favor of the Blue Devils heading into the fourth quarter.
Keiser 9, Lawrence Tech 12
Kady Waits of Lawrence Tech would secure her hat trick with 11:30 on the clock to put LTU up 9-6.
Myers would find the back of the net with 9:57 to keep the game in reach for KU.
However, the Blue Devils would take advantage of Keiser’s penalties, scoring two consecutive man-up goals to extend their lead to 11-7 with 7:00 minutes remaining.
The Seahawks would not go down without a fight, as Melanie Brown scored with 5:21 on the clock followed by Andrews’ fourth goal of the night with 2:19 left to play.
With 55 seconds showing, the Blue Devils would seal the game, scoring their 12th goal of the night and taking the win.
