Keiser Women: #3 Women’s Lacrosse Comeback Falls Short Against #5 Eagles

No. 3 Keiser Women’s Lacrosse brought the game within three scores in the fourth, but it wasn’t enough as No. 5 Reinhardt defeated the Seahawks in Georgia, 19-15.
Keiser 4, Reinhardt 5
- The Eagles got off to a hot start scoring the opening two goals by the 11:39 mark.
- Sydney Passaro and Melanie Brown scored back-to-back goals to tie the game at 2-2 with 10:19 showing.
- With an assist on the Passaro goal, Bridget Reddington became the all-time leader in program history with 74
- Lena Finkelstein gave Keiser their first lead of the afternoon with 8:27 on the clock.
- Reinhardt would respond with a 3-0 scoring run to take a 5-3 lead with 2:54 remaining in the period.
- Rachel McLaughlin would find the back of the net just before the end of the quarter to cut the Eagles lead to 5-4 heading into the second.

- Reinhardt would start the second with a 5-0 scoring run to stretch their lead to 10-4 with 6:31 on the clock.
- Valeria Lomaglio converted consecutive free position shots to cut the Eagles’ lead down to 10-6 going into the half.

- The Seahawks came out firing in the second half, with Brown putting her second on the board with 13:39 showing.
- Back-to-back goals by Andrews would cut the lead down to one with 11:27 on the clock.
- The Eagles would have a strong response, rattling off five goals before the end of the quarter to take a 15-9 lead with 15 minutes to play.
Keiser 15, Reinhardt 19
- Reinhardt was first on the board to start the fourth at the 14:12 mark to increase the lead to 16-9.
- Lomaglio would spark a run for Keiser scoring with 13:46 on the clock.
- Andrews would add two to her total split by Finkelstein’s second of the contest to cut the lead down to 16-13 with 8:52 showing.
- The Eagles would counter with two of their own capped by Shelby O’neil’s fourth for RU with 5:39 left to play.
- Hayley Frew found the back of the net with 4:55 left in the quarter to cut the lead to 18-14.
- Reinhardt’s Morgan McGhee would net her sixth of the contest to put the Eagles up 19-14 with 3:01 showing.
- Brown would score with 2:28 left in the game, but it wouldn’t be enough as Reinhardt would take the game 19-15.
