Hatters Fall to Lindenwood

DeLand, Fla.- Stetson Lacrosse fell to Lindenwood 24-11 on Thursday evening. 
 
Lindenwood started off the scoring only 41 seconds into the game. The Hatters quickly answered with a goal from Molly Kearney followed by a goal from Katie Kornacki. The Lions tied the game up at two, but Georgia Goering put Stetson back into the lead. The Lions once again tied the game up, but this time Jordyn Humphrey put the Hatters back on top. Lindenwood added two more goals, but Humphrey tied the game up at five. Just before the end of the first period the Lions scored again taking a 6-5 lead. 
 
Lindenwood added three more goals to start the second period, but Sara Freeman got one back for the Hatters. The Lions tallied another goal but goals from Kornacki, Sam King and Humphrey’s third goal brought the Hatters to within one. The Lions added two goals before the end of the period and Stetson trailed 12-9 at the half. 
 
In the third period, Lindenwood scored seven unanswered goals before Sara Freeman scored on a free position shot. 
 
The Lions added four straight in the fourth quarter before Humphrey scored her fourth goal on a free position goal. Lindenwood scored once more, and Stetson fell 24-11. 
 
Stetson will now head to Kennesaw State for a game on Sunday, April 7. The game will begin at 12pm.
