2024 Men’s Lacrosse Postseason Honors Announced

ATLANTA  Air Force, Cleveland State, Detroit Mercy, Jacksonville and Utah combined to earn superlative recognitions and highlight the 2024 Atlantic Sun Conference Men’s Lacrosse postseason honors, announced Tuesday by the league office.

For the second time in program history, the ASUN Player of the Year hails from Utah as Ryan Stines claimed this year’s honor. Stines started all 14 games this season for the Utes, recording a team-high 55 points on a team-best 40 goals and 15 assists, adding 13 ground balls and three caused turnovers. He ranks first in the league and is 15th nationally in goals per game (2.86). Luke Majick leads Detroit Mercy with 36 points and 23 goals this season and helped the Titans earn their first Midfielder of the Year honor. The Grand Rapids, Mich., native has recorded 13 ground balls this season and scored a goal in 12 of 13 games. He recorded two hat tricks in 2024 with four goals and an assist in a win on the road against Bellarmine and three goals against VMI.

Jacksonville’s Ryan Della Rocco, the Defensive Player of the Year, enters the postseason ranked first in the conference in both goals-allowed average and save percentage. On the national stage, the Westfield, N.J., native ranks 12th in goals allowed and eighth in save percentage. He held opponents to under 10 goals 12 times this season. After totaling 26 goals, 21 ground balls and 14 assists this season. Air Force’s Turner Ashby was tabbed the Freshman of the Year. Ashby led all ASUN freshmen with 40 points via 26 goals and 14 assists. An Inside Lacrosse Top-25 Midseason Freshman Impact lister, Ashby started in every game this season and put up a goal for Air Force in all but one game the one 2024 campaign. Head Coach Andy German led Cleveland State to its first ASUN Championship appearance and garnered his first Coach of the Year accolade. The eight wins by the Vikings in 2024 are tied for the most in a single season in the program’s history.
