WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 22, 2022) – The Tars road a big first half lead to an easy win over the visiting Colorado Mesa Mavericks on the turf at Cahall-Sandspur Field.  With the win Rollins closes the non-Sunshine State Conference portion of their schedule undefeated, at 9-0.  Colorado Mesa drops to 3-2 on the year.

Taylor Kienle led all scorers with five goals.  Charlotte Gastonguay added a hat trick and an assist good for four total points.  Caroline Gastonguay scored once and led the squad with three helpers, equaling her sister’s four point tally.  Bridget Cawley caused four turnovers on the defensive side of the field, playing in front of Rachel Schlesinger, who made five saves, playing the full 60 minutes between the pipes.

Ali Bryant, Kiley Davis, and Regan Wentz each found the net twice for the Mavericks.  Brianna Anderson tallied the lone assist.  Shannon Murphy picked up the loss in goal, surrendering nine goals in just under 18 minutes of play.  She was relieved by Lula Mitchell, who made five saves over the final 42 minutes of action.

The Tars played a clean game, turning the ball over only eight times, and misfiring on only one clear.  This helped the Tars hold a commanding lead in shots, 28-17, and shots on goal, 24-11, despite a near even split at the draw.
