BOX SCORE

GAFFNEY, S.C. – Guy Bistrow of the Saint Leo men’s lacrosse team, netted a hat-trick to open his sophomore campaign Saturday at Limestone, who is ranked 10th nationally. Bistrow, a 2021 Sunshine State Conference All-Freshman Team member, netted the Lions’ first two goals, assisted by Gino Riforgiato and Evan Wray, respectively, and recorded the hat trick in the third, also assisted by Wray. Despite the efforts, Saint Leo fell 17-7 to the South Region Limestone Saints.

Wray joined Bistrow with three points dishing out a pair of assists and netting his first goal of his senior year.

Limestone captured its second win of the early season jumping out to a 5-0 run in the first. Bistrow was able to convert the pass from Riforgiato to get the Lions on the board. In the second, the Saints tallied another run, this time with three consecutive goals, which was cut by back-to-back goals by the Green and Gold.

Down 8-3 at the half, the Lions outscored the Saints 6-4 in the third but was unable to add to their work in the fourth.

Freshman goalkeeper, Evan Hock, earned the start and 18 saves in all 60 minutes.
