Saint Leo Men: Eames Puts Up Third Straight Seven-Point Performance to Lift Lions over Wolves

SAINT LEO, Fla. – Tyler Eames tallied his third straight seven-point performance to lead the Saint Leo Lions to a 19-12 victory Wednesday night at University Turf Stadium. The night closed out the Lions’ non-conference schedule in the win column, raising the Green and Gold’s record to 5-2.
 
Eames found the back of the net five times off five shots and added a pair of assists, matching his previous career’s game-high record. The senior attacker from Whitby, Ontario also caused a turnover and picked up a ground ball.
 
The Wolves topped the Lions in the first quarter 3-2. Saint Leo turned around and outscored Newberry 8-4. The Green and Gold saw the victory through in the remaining quarters, continuing to outscore the visitors.
 
In goal, Steve Lauter earned his win earning 18 stops in all 60 minutes of action.
 
Saint Leo will open play in the Sunshine State Conference in its next game on Saturday, March 26. The Lions will head to Melbourne, Fla. to face the Florida Tech Panthers at 11:00 a.m.
