Saint Leo Men: Williams Paces Lions’ Offensive Surge at Barton

WILSON, N.C. – The Saint Leo men’s lacrosse team dominated Barton in a non-conference matchup Friday afternoon in North Carolina. The Lions cruised to a 20-8 win on the road paced by junior midfielder Justin Williams with eight points. The road victory raised the Green and Gold’s record to 3-1 while Barton’s season mark lowered to 3-3.
 
Williams broke out five goals and three assists for a dangerous day for the Lions’ attack. Guy Bistrow followed closely with seven points. The sophomore attacker’s has made a habit of wreaking havoc on opponents’ defenses. Bistrow netted four goals and tallied three assists adding to the offensive surge.
 
Timothy D’antuono joined Bistrow in scoring four goals. He also added an assist for a five-point day. Seven more Lions rounded off the big offensive day with a goal each.
 
Off the face, Michael Flores won 17-of-31 and picked up a game-high 11 ground balls.
 
Evan Hock earned the win in the net. Hock earned 13 saves in 56 minutes of work. Jed Page wrapped up the game seeing first couple minute of collegiate action.
 
Saint Leo returns to action on Saturday, March 12 after Young Harris had to cancel their meeting with the Lions. March 12 marks the Green and Gold’s return to University Turf Stadium to host the Flagler Saints. The south region non-conference opening faceoff is slated for 1:00 p.m.
