BOX SCORE

SAINT LEO, Fla. – The No. 23 Saint Leo Lions were bested by the No. 18 Seton Hill Griffins in an 18-10 decision on Thursday under the University Turf Stadium lights. The nationally-ranked non-conference meeting moved the Lions’ overall record to 3-5 while the Griffins improved to 4-1.

Ava Valenti’s hat-trick paced the Green and Gold’s goal-scoring followed by Kaci Archer and Delaney Gilchrist with a pair each. Meghan Bomleny set up a team-high two assists on the night.

On defense, Emily Lampasone registered a pair of caused turnovers while freshman goalkeeper Makayla Goetz earned 10 saves in 60 minutes of work.

A four-goal run in the second extended Seton Hill’s lead from four goals to eight; 11-4. The Griffins struck again in the third with another four straight to hold a 15-6 lead. Saint Leo outscored Seton Hill in the fourth but it would be too little too late.

The Lions will continue their home streak schedule on Wednesday, March 16 at 7:00 p.m. This time Saint Leo will welcome Saint Anselm to University Turf Stadium.
